A humanitarian mission

Fondation du Dr Julien is a social enterprise whose mission is to ensure that every child living in vulnerable circumstances has access to community social pediatrics care that enhances their well-being and helps them to develop to their full potential in accordance with the Convention on the Rights of the Child.

  • A medicine that places the child's dignity front and centre

Community social pediatrics is a model of integrated social medicine developed by Dr. Gilles Julien and Mrs. Hélène (Sioui) Trudel. It is centred on meeting the needs of young people aged 0 to 20 years old. It ensures their fundamental rights are respected. The approach enables a more complete diagnosis because it assesses physical, psychological, cognitive and social health. Relying on the children’s strengths, his or her family and the community, it combines medicine, law and social work to identify, reduce and eliminate stressors affecting the development and well-being of the child.

  • “ They helped me, and now I’m going to help myself. ”

Our initiatives

A leader in community social pediatrics

Every year we care for and accompany more than 2,000 children and their families at our three community social pediatrics centres, including Garage à musique, our first specialized centre.

A range of integrated care and services

After establishing a clinical diagnosis for the child, we draw up a personalized action plan. The Fondation then works hand in hand with specialists from health institutions to ensure the delivery of the most effective, comprehensive care. For its part, the Fondation offers a full range of integrated care and services under one roof.
